I think a lot of this need for mobility aids can be attributed to the growing population consisting of the Baby Boomers. These Baby Boomers are entering there mid 60s so that is the essence why we are seeing this need for things like mobility scooters and stair lifts.

Many Baby Boomers are looking at the cost of managing their health as it is unfortunately deteriorate with time passing. The nursing homes and private care are exorbitant !! And a lot of the Boomers prefer cost effective devices such as reconditioned stair lifts and mobility scooters to provide in insisting them in their day to day lives.

It has been a tough economy in the past few years and this has been a burdened on many seniors !! As a result, they are looking for good deals to help them with their disabilities and their fledgling health. They can literally save tens of thousands of dollars if they can 'age in their homes' without having to go to a nursing home or have home health care.

Thats why you have seen in particularly stair lifts in such huge demand today. Reconditioned stair lifts are the choice of many as they are much less expensive than new ones. Reconditioned mobility scooters are also in high demand too.

Its good to see this transformation of people getting old in their homes rather than getting old in nursing homes !!

To put this in a realistic perspective just take a look at this : globally we had about 600 million people over age 60 in 2000 and by 2050 that figure will reach over 2 billion people. And for the first time in history we will see the Seniors outnumber the 14 and under age group.

These facts are alarming and yet it really shouldn't be looked at in a negative light. It will open up many opportunities and many jobs for people to provide the manufacturing of mobility scooters, stair lifts, wheelchairs and many other mobility aids that will be increasing in demand. This will only increase technological advances in this field on a high level !! Thats not to mentioned the reconditioned market which will add to our job force.

Let me start out by saying that I am going to post more here at this Blog in 2012. We are going on 4 years here now ,and I am really excited about hitting that milestone and doing a lot more interesting things here to help people !!

We will continue to give informative commentary on mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, stair lifts, and many other mobility products..........but I will also be talking about how ways many of you can earn money with some of the free programs on the internet. They are not hard to find ,but I will point you in the exact direction of where to go.

One thing ,as many of you know, I like to talk about is the ways the technology of today can help many out who have disabilities.

And the mobility scooter has been talked about more than any other device on this blog. It is just such a great contraption ! :)

It was invented by Allan R. Thieme in 1968. It was a way for him to help out a family member to get around better. Most people of certain disabilities were relegated to the wheelchair up to that time. This made it quite hard because wheelchairs can be so 'unmobilitizing' !! With the mobility scooter, it has really opened up a new horizon for many. This first one by Thieme was called the Amigo.

And since the introduction of the Amigo, the mobility scooter has been increased in technical advances almost every year.

As we speak, mobility scooters are either powered by gasoline or electricity. For in door uses mobility scooters powered by electricity are probably most ideal because of the convenience to chargers. But the electrical scooter is more expensive to develop and keep up because charging itself uses a very large amount of electricity.

Whereas the gasoline powered scooter uses less energy than the electrical one. They are more feasible and affordable than the electrical mobility scooters because they are similar to any other gas driven device. Of course, with the world cracking down on emissions from oil and gas this can be a downside to the gas fueled mobility scooter. There is a lot of criticism on this issue !!

The mobility scooter has brought much life back to many. It can swerve at much sharper angles than any electric wheelchair. And going down a street or even a major parkway can be accomplished with a mobility scooter.

We will keep talking more about this great device and how it has been so great in shaping people's lives for the better !! ;)

I have tried to bring some really great resources on things like scooters, free scooters, wheelchairs, stair lifts and other types of handicapped devices that help people. I am taking the rest of the year off to spend the holidays with family across the country.I will be posting more often in 2012 and look forward to doing that.

Yeah it has been over 3 years since I started this blog. Unfortunately I have not been able to have Post here lately. But I have appreciated the opportunity to provide some good information on mobility products and offer some ways that people with disabilities can earn some free money; only just their time !

I also went to give a big shout out to our loyal readers. Many of you have emailed saying about how much you have appreciated this blog. And that is so cool to hear :)!!

I know things like mobility scooters, mobility lifts,electric wheelchairs, 4 leg walking canes as well as disabled bathroom products and much more are devices that have been a godsend to many people facing challenges everyday.

I know many of you take this stuff for granted but they are big obstacles everyday for people who have some kind of disability !

On this blog we have swayed towards the mobility scooter as being the best device for many disabled people. Electric wheelchairs are great and in so many instances they can be useful. But mobility scooters seem to be the wave of the future if they aren't already.

Mobility is probably regarded as one of the best things that a person can enjoy because it means a freedom to move. I started this Blog almost 2.5 years ago and I planned to have it go one direction and it took an entirely different one.

At this time, I had a stroke that was caused by a cavernous Angioma in my right brain stem. It was a terrible time and even up til today it has caused debillitating health conditions that affect me every day. And I have no choice but to deal with them.

As a result of my sickness and condition during this time , I begin to look for ways to search to make extra money on the Web to pay for my medical expenses and hospital bills. I was really down and out and I was really doubtful that I would have any luck whatsoever in this endeavour.

But to my surprise, I did have some luck. Interesting enough I found programs that you can actually make some legitimate money with , and it cost nothing but just your time.

They are called paid surveys and even up until today I still participate in them and still make money with them. They are a great way to make a little extra money.

So I started this Blog to give many folks who were in the same boat as me the chance to earn money on the Web with these paid surveys. As time has gone by, I noticed that people with disabilities who came to my Blog wanted information other than just Moneymaking programs. They wanted information on things like Mobility Aids like Mobility Scooters and Electric Wheelchairs.
So I have shifted this Blog more into this topic

Motorized wheelchairs are the brainchild of George Klein. He worked for the National Research Council of Canada, and came up with sticking an electric powered motor into a wheelchair in efforts to assist injured veterans of World War II.

A manual wheelchair will be of little help to a person diagnosed with C2-3 spinal cord lesions when he’s alone, so motorized wheelchairs controlled by chin controls with puff/sip scanners come into the picture. In the same way but to a lesser degree, disabled or even elderly people who lack either the strength or coordination to propel themselves with a manual wheelchair use a motorized one controlled by mounted joysticks which only require one hand, or even just a few fingers.

All in all, if the conventional manual wheelchair won’t do much for a patient, doctors and most Allied Health Professionals would recommend an electric-powered wheelchair.

Today’s technologies have afforded our debilitated loved ones the ease and convenience in moving around and maneuvering in the form of a motorized wheelchair. A normal person can only imagine how difficult it is for a handicapped individual to move from one point to another day after day, and everything a piece of machinery stuck inside a wheelchair does is makes him feel a lot better with himself and his abilities.

For people with relatives or family members diagnosed with physical handicaps or debilitating conditions, it’s easy to see how medical scooters definitely help out. Medical scooters help the disabled move around more freely and with a lot more ease than conventional wheelchairs do. The mere fact that disabled individuals can drive these things on their own with little or no difficulty at all does wonders for their esteem. They can also be used by pregnant women, or the elderly, in fact medical scooters can be used by virtually anyone having difficulty getting around.

The truth is, they’re scooters outright, the difference being in that they’re used indoors, as opposed to their larger, more powerful counterparts on the streets and highways. Sure, the most common use is for the disabled, but anyone who wants to use them can, regardless of physical capacity. Have you ever found yourself wanting everything done automatically, like even walking around the house or a building because it’s too tiring and requires too much effort? We’re all no strangers to the need and want for more ease and convenience in our lives. Now imagine how much more the physically handicapped and disabled wish for such ease and simplicity in maneuvering and moving around. Luckily, electric wheelchairs are available for their use.

Electric wheelchairs are just like what they sound: wheelchairs with motors. Okay guys its about a week away to turkey day. I hope you all are going to get to be with your family and loved ones and enjoy a lot of good festive activities.

One thing I want to touch upon is that let us ALL keep in mind during this time that many people including a lot of disabled people will not have anyone to share this Holiday with. This is a sad fact but it is just reality.

If it is all possible I want to encourage everyone ,if they can, to reach out to a person who is alone or depressed and down and out and give them a hug or better yet invite them to spend a little time with you and your family.It will mean a lot to these people.

I know being disabled sometimes puts people in a position that can seem lonely and alienated. If anyone who is feeling like this who is reading my Blog I just want to say you have friends here who care. And we would love to hear from you so do not hesitate to post a comment to say hi.

One of the purposes I developed this Blog was to fellowship with others who had some form of disability. Well, the Blog took a little different direction than I had planned but I am still motivated to reach out and communicate with some of my Readers who may have Disabilities that provide obstacles. So I committed to doing this !!

Okay, my personal battle with a vascular brain tumor and a Stroke in the last 6 years has NOT stopped me from Living and Loving Life. I could have felt sorry for myself many, many times with my debilitating condition and the symptoms I have to deal with on a day to day basis.
But I made a decision long ago that I was going to try my best to still love Life as much as I could and still find great meaning in Life.

I know many of you are probably in some dire circumstances with your own Disability. Some of you may be confined to a wheelchair and some may be permanently confined to a Bed.

But I truly believe that as long as you have a brain and can talk and think then you have no reason to not make an effort to live life to the fullest extent you are capable of.

With the progress of technology, getting around has never been more simple for people with disabilities. For instance, mobility scooters have come a long way in the last few decades. Just the other day I saw several people within one hour driving down the street in a medical scooter. These people are not letting their weaknesses stop them from living life. They are handicapped but are going to the grocery store, attending school functions for their children, going to the movie theaters, travelling on vacations etc..etc..

It is a brand new Life for many people with disabilities !! And the really, really good news is that it will keep getting better and better for these people as technology and advancements will continue to improve each and every year.

Also for elderly people the same applies. As people get older and older in our Society, we will be seeing a group of people who are getting better and better made mobility aids to be able to get around more efficiently.

Gosh knows with the baby Boomers getting in their sixties we will certainly need this advancement.

So its good news for everyone in our Society. ;)

And I feel privileged to be able to provide some resources to help some of these people on this Blog !! :)

I have now been at it with this Blog for over one and half years. It has been quite a journey ,and one where I am proud to help out many people similar to myself who have disabilities and mobility issues.

Earlier this year, I decided to start another Blog that is totally dedicated to Mobility Lifts. These include stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, scooter lifts, van lifts and other handicap lifts. At first, I had these devices included on my blog here but decided it was best to have a separate blog devoted solely towards this.

You know mobility lifts like stair lifts are so beneficial in giving many disabled people a normal functioning life. If you do not know already, stair lifts are those mechanized contraptions that transport the disabled and elderly up and down the stairs and floors of a home. Can you imagine being in a state where you have to have someone carry you up and down your own home ?? This in the past was a huge distracting and burdensome issue. Disabled people would have to be carried on the shoulder of a pretty strong person to their own bedroom. But today technology has brought us these stair lifts that make it possible to get up and down without assistance from another person.

In the early days, mobility scooters were small and were driven by front wheel drive. Their primary use was for the indoors and the indoors only. Today, the more modern scooters are meant to be versatile for outdoor and indoor use.
They can operate under varied terrain including ones that were deemed unsafe before.
The different options and accessories are more numerous than ever.

There are literally hundreds of different models to choose from. More than ever mobility scooters have been a convenient and important tool for people who find it difficult to move around in Life. This may include elderly people , people with disabilities and people who are sickly and may have been in an accident.
Tt really gives hope to many who never had hope in living somewhat of a normal, free Life !!
Going to the grocery store, out to eat, pay bills, or a day in the Park is now on the to do list of many people who wouldnt dream of doing it before.

A few of the options and accessories of a mobility scooter include carriers for oxygen . a place to put ones cane or crutches, baskets for the front and rear, headlights and tail lights, blowing horns to warn people ahead of time and other things.

Electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs will always have a place and time in our Society. Many people simply do not have the strength to hold themselves up on a mobility scooter so an electric wheelchair would be better suited for them. Manuel wheelchairs are still used by many but for long term use it seems that mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are the ways to go.

The flexibility and maneuverability of a mobility scooter makes it an outstanding candidate for those that want to travel around outside without hindrance. In many cases, people have really treated it similar to a automobile in that they can take the scooter from their home and go to the nearby Supermarket and Convenience store. How many times do we see an elderly person or disabled person making his way down the road going 20 mph to the local Store ?? Well, if your like me you see it happening all the time !!

In my view, I see that as nothing short of beautiful progress in our World. To think that 50 years ago many of these same people were looked on in our Society as down and out people who had to be institutionalized....well is a tribute to how far we have come to see these scooters all around in our lives now.
And a tribute to how far modern technology has come with a great invention like the mobility scooter !! :)
